Emilio Ramírez 'El Duende' protagonist of a documentary about flamenco

Emilio Ramírez ‘El Duende’ is the protagonist of the documentary that a Chinese producer has been filming in Spain about flamenco culture, a work that will be released soon in the Asian country. The bailaor (dancer) has been chosen to show how the daily life of a flamenco artist is, both in his personal and professional field.

For the preparation of this film, the producer was following in the footsteps of Emilio and his family for three days. Hence the result will include sequences in the Women’s Museum of Flamenco in Arahal, the artist’s hometown, of this municipality, of his home, of Seville and of the flamenco tablao El Palacio Andaluz, where he is the artistic director and principal dancer of our daily show.

“It has been a new experience for me. I’m used to getting on a tablao to dance, but not having a microphone and a camera following me for a whole day in my private and professional life. However, it has been something very nice and special, ”explains Emilio Ramírez.

Representing flamenco dance in Seville

Flamenco bulerías are the cheerful style par excellence of flamenco.

The documentary has been recorded in eight countries of the world and, in Spain, Emilio was chosen to represent flamenco dancing in Seville, “something that is a pride, but also a great responsibility,” says the artist.

The final result of this work will be released soon in China and will be attended by Emilio Ramírez. “I have been invited to the premiere in the Asian country and I am very excited because on a personal level it has been a very rewarding experience, it was three intense days sharing very special moments with my family and my tablao teammates. It also means a lot to me to have this opportunity to make my facet known as a flamenco dancer outside our borders and in a country like this, ”adds ‘El Duende’.

The premiere of this documentary will be a followed point because everything indicates that there will be a second part and that it will also be starring our artist.

For El Palacio Andaluz it is a real pride that Emilio Ramírez ‘El Duende’ has been chosen by the Asian producer to publicize this facet of Spanish culture. Remember that he is the first dancer, artistic director and choreographer of the flamenco show that hosts our tablao every night.

He is considered one of the best dancers in Spain and has performed on the best stages around the world, such as the New York City Center. He has worked and shared tables with leading flamenco figures such as Juana Anaya, Antonio Gades, Eva Yerbabuena or José Antonio Ruiz, among others.

In the following video, we can see a preview of what will be the documentary starring Emilio Ramírez ‘El Duende’.
