Cristian Cabello, flamenco guitarist

Cristian Cabello is one of the three guitarists who are part of the cast of artists who give life to the flamenco show that can be enjoyed every day at El Palacio Andaluz in Seville.

He arrived two years ago at this emblematic sevillian tablao, after a professional career that has taken him to tour scenarios of half the world, Europe and America, mainly. He confesses not to remember the name of the stages he has climbed, but he did like it a lot “because of how big and beautiful it was” on the Toronto stage, although it was at the Teatro Lope de Vega, in his native Seville, the place where he has most excited to act.

He plays the guitar since he was a child and his dedication to flamenco is not arbitrary. “My family and my grandfather have always been linked to this art,” he says. Formed in different schools and with different teachers, Cristian Cabello boasts of having accompanied great artists such as María Serrano and Pepa Montes with his guitar.

In the flamenco show that takes place at the gala next December 31 at El Palacio Andaluz, he will be with his guitar on a night that “will be very special for everyone”. In the following interview, Cristian Cabello reveals more details of his artistic career and how they will welcome 2018 in this flamenco tablao.

Answer (A): I am a guitarist from Sevilla, from the Bellavista neighborhood. My family and my grandfather have always been linked to this art, so my passion for flamenco comes from a young age. Artistic career of guitarist Cristian Cabello

(Q):Tell us about your artistic trajectory? Where have you worked and with whom?

(A): I have worked in many places and with great artists like María Serrano or Pepa Montes. I have traveled a lot and I have climbed to stages of America and Europe. I’ve been in El Palacio Andaluz for two years and the experience is very positive.

(Q): To an artist like you who has acted in many places, which scenario has impressed you the most?

(A): Well, if I have to stay with a place, the Lope de Vega Theater in Seville has been the one that impressed me the most. I played with Pepa Montes and I have a very pleasant memory of that day. I’ve been to many places, but that came to me a lot. I also liked the theater where I played in Toronto. I do not remember his name, but it was very big and very beautiful.

(Q): Which club does Cristian Cabello feel most comfortable with?

(A): To play for granaínas I like it a lot is where I feel most comfortable with the guitar. Then there are other styles that I also like, but the comfort and the beauty that the guitar sounds to me, I feel it with granaínas.

(Q): What artistic references does a guitarist like you have?

(A): Well … there are many. Of course, the teacher Paco de Lucía is a reference for everyone and then you always look at one or the other of those who try to get things out for you.

(Q):Tell us what does a guitarist like you contribute to the performances that take place at El Palacio Andaluz?

(A): I try to give security to my classmates, both when they dance and when they sing. I accompany them with the guitar and I try to give them the security they need so that the work comes out fluid and everything goes well.

Do not miss the Special End of the Year Gala

(Q): What is it that you transmit every time you get on this tablao flamenco?

(A): What I try to convey to the public with my music are impressions. I want them to leave when they leave here with enthusiasm and surprised by everything they have seen and heard. That’s what I try to do whenever I get on stage and play the guitar.

(Q): Why do we have to spend New Year’s Eve at El Palacio Andaluz and attend the New’s Year’s Eve Gala Dinner that is being organized for next December 31st?

(A): They have to spend the end of the year with us because they will have a lot of fun watching our cast of artists. We are a team that has fun with what it does in the flamenco tablao and that passion we get to transmit daily to the people who visit El Palacio Andaluz. December 31 is a very special day and the level of involvement will be noticed on stage.

(Q): With what moment of the flamenco show do you stay?

(A): The number of the table is impressive and the public receives it with very good acceptance. The finish by seguidillas is also very good and puts the audience on its feet. But the best thing is to come and see the show in person.
